This is the Spider when I bought it 10 years ago when we brought it along with 2 Triumph TR6's and an MGB roadster from America.

Somewere along the line of things to do will be the restoration of my Spider. I have the body stripped to the shell and will be doing a complete ground up rebuild. It is my intention to have the car prepared so it can be used as everyday transport. Again like the 308 I will host info and pics as I go along. If you have any suggestions that you think might help me please feel free to host them in the forum section.

I have owned the car for about 8 years now and it was driving when I got it. Really the only things that were letting it down were a cracked dash and most of the suspension bushes were worn out..

To cut a long story short it's took that long to get this far. I do hope it doesn't take another 8 years.

Now that the shell is stripped I will start with the floor and underneath..

Unfortunately yet again the restoration on my Spider has came to a halt. I got the 127 and it has taken over.. I don't know when I'll get at it again so if someone offers me a decent price for the car I will sell it on. I would rather the car went to someone who will finish it rather than it wasting away. So make me an offer.

It's being used to store parts in at the moment.

03/04/08. I had a good poke round the shell today and was able to get a few photos.. Doors are in excellent condition, this photo is showing inside the door frame and there is no rust at all.

I thought the floors would need replaced by now. However although they look bad with surface rust on both floors they have not rust through anywere as far as I can see. Very pleased with that.

Engine bay is still in very good condition and the front end panel is fine from underneath. The top of the nose does had a bit of rust on it though.

Inside the boot is in great condition. The boot carpet is fine and so is the spare wheel well.

Petrol tank is in great order to.

Inside of the boot lid and bonnet are showing no signs of even surface rust. All in all the shell is in very good condition and would need very little preparation to have it ready for painting.

Good 1600 engine and gearbox.

2 diffs. a 1600 and a 2000.

There is almost 2 sets of suspension components including a RHD steering box. Oh and a wiring loom.

Even a tow bar for a Spider or Junior.

The dash is in excellent condition.

The hood is grubby but it has no rips or cracks from what I can see. I think the plastic rear window will actually clean up well to. It doesn't even seem to have gone milky.

The seats however have seen better days and need pading and recovering.

I managed to dig out the original rubber flooring. Some of it is split but with the kits you can buy now they are easily repairable. I'm told this type of flooring is very rare to find now.

Alfa logo is part of the mat.
